Nature vs Nurture Debate

Nature vs. Nurture means a constant debate that has been going for many years weather if people are born intelligent by nature or genetics or by nurture that means the environment in which we live and the people that surround us. The first scientist to use this term and put it in discussion was Francis Galton (France) in 1874. There are many topics that are part of this debate and some of them are obesity and homosexuality which strongly influence on the human mind. Scientists believe that both sexuality and weight are both shaped by the environment in which we live in. The main belief of this debate is really divided because some scientists think that it’s because of the genetics we are who we are and other scientists think that it’s because of the environment we live in, our everyday environment. In my opinion I think that it’s a little bit of both because we are who we are because of our parents genetics, like if our parents are intelligent the children has a high probability of being intelligent also, in the case of environment a kid can be born intelligent but also if his environment is not a good one his intelligence could be never be managed the way it should. Both theories may be correct in their own way because in some occasions people are created by their genetics and environment.

Charles Darwin

Charles Darwin was born in 1809 in Shrewsbury, England and died in 1882. Darwin was a British naturalist who became famous for his theories of evolution and natural selection. Darwin always had a belief like a common scientist that life on earth evolved over millions of years from common ancestors. In a trip Darwin made to South America he found fossils of extinct animals that where similar to modern species. Darwin's theory of evolution states that every living thing in this planet is descendents of common ancestors. The natural selection acts by preserving the animal’s bones for many years. During Darwin's years people where commonly very religious and believed powerfully in God. Do to this religious issue Darwin was afraid of publishing his book about his theory because they would attack him because he believes in other theory of creation than the one that God created us and every living thing in the Earth. Darwin had so much anguish on developing his theory because of his family. His wife was very religous women and also his kids. Darwin lost 2 kids because of illness and he suffered of stress because of all the problems he had in his mind and the doubt of publishing or not his theory to demonstrate the world that he was correct.
